Dr. Mindy Maresca
Dr. Mindy Maresca grew up in the Southern Tier. She always knew that she wanted to work with animals. Her education journey began at SUNY Delhi where she graduated with an associate’s degree in Veterinary Science Technology. She decided to continue her education at Binghamton University completing her undergraduate degree in Biology while obtaining the necessary pre-requisites to apply to veterinary school. During this time, she also worked as a licensed veterinary technician.
Following her graduation from Binghamton University, Dr. Maresca moved to Ithaca and attended Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. While at Cornell, Dr. Maresca worked part-time in the community practice service, spent a summer riding with an equine vet, and spent several externships at an exotic practice but ultimately decided that small animal medicine is where she belonged in the veterinary world.
After graduating from Cornell, Dr. Maresca moved to the Boston area where she gained a large amount of experience in medicine, surgery, and emergency care. After spending several years in Boston, Dr. Maresca returned home and, after a period of time working as a relief veterinarian, found her home at SPEAK Animal Hospital in 2007.
While Dr. Maresca’s professional interests include both dogs and cats, she particularly enjoys feline medicine and working with our shelter cats at SPEAK. When not at SPEAK, she enjoys being outside doing anything active, running, and most of all, traveling with her husband Mike and daughter Emme. She currently has one kitty named Edwin.

She worked in a mixed animal practice in Southwest Minnesota for two years before moving back to New York in 2016. She joined the team at SPEAK in 2018. Her special interests include preventative medicine, geriatric care, and soft tissue surgery. She is also working on her CVA (Chinese Veterinary Acupuncture) certification to offer more options for her patients' treatment and care.
Outside of work, Dr. Brockway enjoys spending time with her husband, Joe, and four young children. She has a geriatric dog named Red (golden retriever), and a rescue dog named Hailey, a geriatric cat named Gump, two quarter horses, a miniature horse, a goat, five rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, many chickens, and an axolotl named Cesar. If she had free time, she would enjoy running, horseback riding, singing, playing guitar, and gardening.
